Digital Watermarking

Nowadays the internet plays a vital role in carrying information from one place to another. This information which is transmitted in digital multimedia which includes photos, audios, and videos. Attacking of digital multimedia is very easy and can be easily monitored by anyone through the internet. Therefore in order to protect these attacks, several intellectual rights have been introduced nearly 50 years ago. this has resulted in the evolution of digital watermarking. Watermarking of images can be done in various domains such as spatial domain, frequency domain, and wavelet domain. Watermarking is a technique of covering secret message in a digital media. When the media is watermarked the digital message is usually the copyright notice. watermarking thus discourages intellectual property theft and helps us to prove ownership when one such theft occurs. This survey digital watermarking in detail and explains theories, applications, and techniques. This blog tells about a digital image watermarking scheme with blind detection for copyright verification. The binary watermarks are embedded in wavelet domain of an image using the discrete wavelet packet transform (DWPT) and quantization of the selected dominant coefficient. In our algorithm, the largest value of the coefficient, which is at the same block of the watermarking embedding process will be selected during the watermark extraction. therefore we do not need the original image for watermark extraction process, it is a blind detection. it saves time and space for transferring the original image respectively, the attacks an experimental result show that the proposed technique are robust to Gaussian noise and jpeg compression. this proposed method is designed robust attacks and based on the blind detection. Therefore, it can be used in copyright verification effectively.
